BOTHERED BY BUDLE BAY... (My new poem about BUDLE BAY, NORTHUMBERLAND...)

 Bothered By Budle Bay…

The distant North Sea, a strip of promise and lustrous blue,

Seemed to hesitate on the horizon, uncertain whether

To encroach upon the immensity of Budle Bay, which appeared to wither

Into a narrow creek, a gap fed by a freshwater stream with a vibrancy askew.

Dull, dun mud littered by crude stones, like a myriad sultanas baked in a cake,

Was lacerated by several channels of placid sea water, their edges fussily bothered

By the wading feet and insistent bill of an egret, whilst a redshank dithered

Fussily in the grime and slime for invertebrates, its unremitting hunger to slake…
