FRINGES & HEDGING... (A poem about my mum, who would have been 106 today...)

 Fringes & Hedging…



On the fringes, cringing

From responsibility,

And ill equipped for that task.

Needing constant reassurance,

Pleading instant deliverance,

Yet too shy to ask.

Seeking anonymity.

On the edges, hedging...

It was always so for my mum, who was born on 9th May 1920…


She would have been 106 today…





Mums s maiden name was indeed Hedges...
