MOUNTS BAY PTERODACTYL... (My new poem about a sunrise in Mousehole, Cornwall, on 22nd June 2026...)

 Mounts Bay Pterodactyl…

Early morning, late June. Caravan curtains were drawn back to reveal

A Mousehole sunrise, following days of sea mist, dullness and ill cheer.

The ocean, wrinkled dull grey was streaked by a startling silvery gleam

And the coast formed a strip of darkened land mass, beneath such a dramatic sky…

As the rays of daybreak, a fanned palette of shades of peach through amber, the unreal

Occurred, as a dark grey to black cloud shape began to appear.

Its form, like a massive Pterodactyl, eased across the sun disk like a bad dream

And its jaws devoured the Cornish morning, as it skimmed the waves and passed monstrously by…
